Objects from Home
I always visit the train tracks by my childhood home to be alone, but also to look for cool things to photograph, or in this instance, take home to Brooklyn. I photographed each object from above on black charcoal paper and used a small flashlight to shine a red beam. I then manipulated lighting and color balance in Photoshop and played with cropping.
CPW 2020 Members Show Review
This past weekend I went upstate to Woodstock, NY to see my friend Rob Perez’s work at the CPW 2020 Members Show. I was really impressed with the level of work being presented and it was such a great turnout. These were some of my favorites photographs from the show:

Art & Activisim @ The Living Gallery
I recently helped my partner organize a night of art and activism at the Living Gallery in Brooklyn. As a painter, my partner has always been interested in visual expression and with recent understanding about cat calling and street harrassment amongst our close friends, he wanted to highlight this issue through art making and community. We designed flyers for print and social, wrote a manifest, sourced materials and designed the gallery space to fit our needs. We offered wine and paint supplies to our guests and made art for several hours. Each person pinned their work to a blank wall and we chatted about our experiences. At the end of the night, we took it all down and burned it! The goal was to express ourselves, share and remain present. The production was a lot of fun and the outcome even more so. I've been a ceramics artist for almost 2 years now and I wanted to showcase my work and brand myself, so I created Lonely Clay. Kodak Disposable Cameras | They Still Exist!
I clearly remember this horrifying moment at the Mary Boone gallery in NYC when the gallery attendant pointed at my Kodak disposable camera and asked "What's that?" From that moment on I decided I'd never let film out of my life. So here are a few from a roll I recently had developed. Enjoy!

Rodin: More than just "the kiss"
I recently visited the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia and discovered a new love for sculpture. I found beauty in Rodin's ability to translate the grace and rawness of humanity into a solid form. He often modeled with a milky softness but sometimes used a rough touch, conveying extreme emotions and capturing intimate moments. These were some of my favorites from the collection, enjoy.

JAN 2015 Inspirations
I've been working a lot lately at Laird + Partners and haven't had much time to update on what's been going on, but I can say that I've been very inspired and am really excited about how 2015 is starting off.
I took a quick trip to Philadelphia with John Haro to visit the new Barnes Foundation and was overwhelmed by the incredible work of master artists like Cezanne, Picasso, Degas, and Courbet - the vastness of the Barnes collection and its new home is not to be missed. Since the trip, I've been on a fine art/painterly kick so these are just a few of the inspirations I've found this month - enjoy and happy new year!

Instax Take 2
This past weekend I took my Fuji Instax out to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. After my indoor experiments, I discovered that the camera worked best under natural light and decided to capture some Fall beauty in one of my favorite Brooklyn hideouts. These are some of my favorites from the day.
Fuji Instax 210
Crazy camera crush! I recently purchased the Fuji Instax 210 when I was traveling in Oregon and it's finally arrived. Fuji offers several sizes, but I opted for the panoramic body because I love shooting landscapes and more conceptual images. These are a few test shots I took today just to get a feeling for the output - automatic flash is a PITA, but overall I'm really happy with the look and feel. Film is forever! Never let it die.
